ジェイ・ホワイトはInside The Ropesのインタビューで、『NJPW STRONGをメインとしファンにこれこそが新日本プロレスの目指すところだと伝えたい』と答えたそうです。
インタビューではNJPW STRONGの可能性について答え、STRONGが新日本のメインを目指せるようこれからも関わりたいと語りました。

| “In an interview with Liam Wyatt of Inside The Ropes, when asked about how much NJPW STRONG can continue to grow, White initially noted that he doesn’t want to specifically qualify how far he thinks it can go because it doesn’t want to limit the brand in that regard. He explained that he’s taking matters one day at a time and enjoying it as long as he can.” （インサイド・ザ・ロープスのリアム・ワイアット氏とのインタビューで、NJPW STRONGがどれくらい成長し続けることができるかについて尋ねられたジェイは、最初に「どこまで行けると思っているのか具体的に制限したくない」と指摘しました。そして、「一日一日を大切にして、できる限り楽しんでいきたい」と説明しています） “I’m not sure how far,” said White. “I’m not gonna put any limit on that and I don’t even have a goal, to be honest, because then I would be putting a limit on it. So I’m just gonna keep riding it like everything, for the last however long, it’s kind of a day by day. We adapt as things come, but the crowds are great. Once we’ve managed to get the fans back to it, obviously that makes a huge difference and then even for those I’m sure watching it (at home), now you can watch it with the crowds, watch how they enjoy it and now they’re going to want to come to the live shows. “And now that we’ve just been getting bigger and bigger each show that we do, so yeah, next goal wise, honestly, I’m not sure, I haven’t got that far ahead. 今年、コロナ禍の影響もあり一年間の半分も日本に居られなかったジェイ・ホワイトですが、来年もアメリカでの活動がメインになるのでしょう。
日本の観客動員が苦戦している状況で、海外戦略で巻き返すのは新日本にとって必要不可欠と言えます。
そのキーパーソンに自ら名乗りを挙げるときうことでしょう。
NJPW STRONGブランドが確立するまで、STRONGを主戦場にしたいということかもしれません。
このインタビューを聞く限りは、来年も日本に来日する機会は少なくなりそうです。
まだまだパンデミックの終息が叶わない以上、日本とアメリカの行き来は肉体的にも精神的にも消耗することは容易に想像できます。
STRONGを盛り上げること、今はアメリカを主戦場にすることは、新日本にとってもジェイにとっても望ましいことなのかもしれません。
ジェイが日本のリングで見れないことは残念ですが、STRONGブランドの価値を高めてくれることに期待したいと思います。
